_ Harichavank: it's
7th century Armenian monastery. Haritchavank’s Cathedral belongs to the category of "Gandzasar-style" ecclesiastical edifices that were built approximately at the same time in different parts of Armenia and were endowed with similar compositional and decorative characteristics. Those include umbrella-shaped dome, cruciform floor plan, narthex and high-relief of a large cross on one of the church’s walls.
_ Gyumri: it is the second largest city in Armenia. By the end of the 19th century, when the city was known as Alexandropol, it was the largest
cities
of
the Eastern Armenia.
The residents are Gyumri are widely known as conservative people. Traditions and local customs are widely preserved by the local citizens. It is very common for Armenians to refer to the dignity of Gyumri. Gyumri is considered to be the "laughter and humour capital" of Armenia. The jokes and anecdotes of famous local humorists like Jgher Khachik and Poloz Mukuch are widely known by the local citizens. Many works have been published to narrate about the legacy and heritage of the humour in Gyumri.
- Kumayri historic district: is the old part of Gyumri with its unique architecture. It has more than a thousand buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The district is one of few places in the Republic of Armenia, and the world, with authentic urban Armenian architecture.
- Sev Berd or the Black Fortress is an abandoned Russian imperial fortress in Gyumri built between 1834 and 1847. Currently, it is a national cultural heritage monument of Armenia, used as an art and cultural centre.
_ Yererouk Basilica, also Yereruyk (the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List) is considered one of the ancient examples of Armenian architecture
referred
to the Paleo-Christian epoch 4-6th century.
